Johns Creek City Council Authorizes Significant Land Purchase

The Johns Creek City Council authorized a purchase agreement for approximately 133 acres of land for recreation and parks.

I am very pleased for our residents that City Council authorized this significant purchase, said Mayor Mike Bodker. This large tract of land provides the city additional park space and will add to the high quality of life in Johns Creek. The public has said loud and clear that adding park space in Johns Creek is a high priority.

The property will be utilized for recreation and/or open space for the benefit of the public. Its located in the eastern half of the city, adjacent to the Rogers Bridge Trail and the proposed Rogers Bridge connection to Duluth. The property has vehicular access from Bell Road and has nearly 2,000 feet of frontage along the Chattahoochee River. Its bordered to the west by Cauley Creek and to the east by the Rogers Bridge Trail. The final park site plan has yet to be determined. The public will have input into the final park layout.
